- @7PARRYING SYSTEM
- ===============
-
- At the start of a combat round, after declairing actions, every one with
- multiple attacks states how they want to split up all their available
- attacks between attacking and parrying. Say a fighter has 3 attacks this
- round, he`s facing off this swordmaster and not feeling to confident about
- his situation. So he decides to split up his attacks thus: 1 attack and
- 2 parrys. So they engage, the swordmaster rolls his attack and hits, the
- fighter definitely dosen`t want first blood to go to his opponent so uses
- a parry - he has to roll over his THAC0, after it being modified by his
- opponents AC, which he does and the blow is parried. He then swings at
- the swordmaster, and gets a critical hit!, if the swordmater wants to
- parry he`ll have to roll a 20 as well!
-
- Oh by the way a not about Bladesingers, though I cant quote from the
- elves handbook it says that a bladesinger gets as many attacks as parries!
- Using the above rule he does NOT get (say he gets 5 attacks a round) 5
- attacks and 5 parries!, in our game the Bladesinger doesn`t have to
- declair how he`s splitting his attacks at declaration, he can simply
- decide if he`s hit weather he wants to use up one of his availible attacks
- (5 in this case) to parry. This addition stops a Bladesinger from waltzing
- through hordes of Giants.
-
- Oh and by the wat (again) I dont personaly feel that a fighter should be
- be able to parry a Dragons claws, I mean let`s get real here (ugh!), just
- think how much force and leverage a Dragon would have behined it`s
- attacks!
